I have two black thumbs. Not one, but two. It seems that every plant I ever buy dies. Why? I have no clue. I gave the plant everything it needed. I gave it love, sun, water, and even made sure it was pest free. But in the end, the plant did not love me back.
My parents have green thumbs. They can grow anything and everything. Even when there is no sun in sight. Okay… maybe I’m exaggerating, but you get my drift. They had vegetable gardens for years from which we ate from regularly. They also had regular plant gardens, indoor and outdoor plants. And yet, I can’t even keep a lucky bamboo stalk alive! (Current lifetime death count: approx 5)
Where the hell is this green thumb gene? And why have I not inherited it? Maybe it skipped a generation? Or maybe it’s something that’s learned? Either way, I will have plants… living ones for that matter. And I will *try* not to kill it. How? Because I’m a grown adult! Plus, I’ve also done a bunch of research and asked many questions.
So here’s to my deceased plants, my current plants, and my future plants.
I will do my best.
2018 – Current Plant Count: TBD
